According to ESPN, Andrew Giuliani, Director of the White House World Cup Task Force, confirmed on Friday that Les Léopards are required to remain inside a tightly monitored health bubble for 21 consecutive days due to ongoing Ebola-related concerns linked to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Failure to comply with the isolation measures could reportedly jeopardize the nation’s participation in the tournament.

The situation stems from current U.S. entry restrictions affecting travelers from DR Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan following the Ebola outbreak. While the Congolese national team has reportedly been granted a special exemption to participate in the World Cup, supporters hoping to travel and cheer on their country have not received the same privilege.
