Transfer: Nigerian Midfielder Peter Ademo Joins Real Zaragoza from Sheriff Tiraspol
Spanish club Real Zaragoza have completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Peter Ademo from Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol for an undisclosed fee, marking another major milestone in the youngster’s rapidly progressing career.
The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term contract after enjoying an impressive campaign with Sheriff, where he established himself as one of the club’s key midfielders.
Ademo joined Sheriff Tiraspol in 2023 following spells in Lithuania and Romania as he continued his development in European football. Although he initially found opportunities limited and spent time on loan at Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest, the Nigerian returned to Sheriff and enjoyed a breakthrough season.
During the 2025/26 campaign, the defensive midfielder made 40 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists. He also featured in both the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League qualifiers, underlining his growing experience on the continental stage.
His outstanding performances reportedly attracted interest from several European clubs before Real Zaragoza won the race for his signature. The Spanish side believe Ademo’s physicality, ball-winning ability and composure in possession will strengthen their midfield as they prepare for the new season.
The move to Spain represents the biggest step of Ademo’s career to date and offers the Nigerian midfielder an opportunity to showcase his talent in one of Europe’s most competitive football environments.
