OFFICIAL: Álvaro Arbeloa Announces Departure from Real Madrid Coaching Staff
Former Real Madrid CF defender Álvaro Arbeloa has officially confirmed his departure from the club’s coaching setup, bringing an emotional chapter at the Santiago Bernabéu to a close.
Speaking on his exit, Arbeloa expressed deep gratitude to the club and the players he worked with during his time in management.
“I’m leaving Real Madrid with immense gratitude as the players have made me a better person and made me enjoy every day,” the Spaniard said.
The former defender also hinted at a possible return to the club in the future, insisting that his farewell may not necessarily be permanent.
“I hope I can return one day. I’m not going to stay with the next coach, no chance. But I hope it’s a see you soon,” he added.
Arbeloa also addressed speculation linking him with a potential role under José Mourinho should the Portuguese tactician arrive at the club. However, he firmly ruled out any possibility of joining Mourinho’s backroom staff.
“Mourinho has a fantastic coaching staff and is very well surrounded. If he arrives, he’ll do so with his own people, as it should be. There’s no possibility of me being with him,” Arbeloa stated.
The 42-year-old took over managerial responsibilities within Real Madrid’s youth setup in 2020, beginning with the club’s Infantil A side before steadily rising through the ranks to become the Head Coach of the Senior team.
