Rangers International Crowned 2025/26 NPFL Champions After Dramatic Final-Day Victory
Rangers International F.C. have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League season after securing a tense 2–1 victory over Ikorodu City F.C. on the final day of the campaign.
The famous Flying Antelopes delivered when it mattered most, with captain Chidiebere Nwobodo producing a match-winning performance by scoring both goals to hand his side a historic ninth league title.
In a fiercely contested encounter filled with pressure and high stakes, Rangers showed resilience and composure to edge past Ikorodu City and confirm their place at the summit of Nigerian football once again. Nwobodo’s decisive brace proved enough to spark celebrations among the club’s supporters as the Enugu-based side completed a memorable title-winning campaign.
The triumph sees Rangers draw level with Enyimba F.C. as the joint most successful club in NPFL history, with both sides now boasting nine league titles each.
Following their championship success, Rangers International will represent Nigeria in next season’s CAF Champions League alongside Rivers United F.C., who also secured qualification for Africa’s premier club competition.
