Rampant Flamingos Trash Guinea U17 in Abidjan
Nigeria’s U17 women’s team, the Flamingos, put up a commanding first-leg performance as they defeated Guinea 5-0 in the first leg of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
It was a dominant display from the Flamingos as they secured a massive away victory at the Félix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.
Flamingos captain Harmony Chidi starred with a brilliant hat-trick, scoring in the 1st, 12th, and 36th minutes.
Oluwakemi Adegbuyi added the fourth goal in the 39th minute, while Mary Dunstan sealed the emphatic win with another goal in the 56th minute.
The result puts Nigeria in a very strong position ahead of the second leg, which will be played on Saturday, 30 May 2026, in Ikenne, Ogun State, Nigeria.
The 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will be hosted by Morocco from 17 October to 7 November 2026.
It will be the third FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to be held in Africa and the second of five consecutive editions set to take place annually in Morocco until 2029.
