Bruno Fernandes Wins Premier League Player of the Season Award

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the 2025/2026 Premier League Player of the Season following a remarkable individual campaign for the Red Devils.

The Portuguese midfielder also recently clinched the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year award, further cementing his place as one of the standout performers in English football this season.

Fernandes delivered an outstanding all-round display throughout the campaign, finishing the season with eight goals and an incredible 20 assists — the highest assist tally in the league. Beyond his direct goal contributions, the 31-year-old dominated virtually every major creative metric in the Premier League.

He led the division in most assists, chances created, big chances created, and open-play chances created, highlighting his influence as the league’s most productive playmaker. Fernandes also recorded the most accurate passes into the penalty box and created more big chances from open play than any other player in the competition.

His 20 assists saw him equal the long-standing Premier League record for most assists in a single season, previously held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.

By winning the award, Fernandes becomes the seventh Manchester United player to receive the honour, joining club legends such as Peter Schmeichel, Dwight Yorke, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Wayne Rooney on the prestigious list of winners.
