Super Falcons Ready for Senegal Test as WAFCON Preparations Gather Momentum

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have intensified preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after completing their final training session ahead of Friday’s international friendly against Senegal in Ikenne.

Justin Madugu’s side put in another strong workout on Thursday at the Remo Stars Stadium, with the players appearing focused and determined as they continue their build-up to the continental showpiece in Morocco.

The friendly encounter will be the first of two matches scheduled between Nigeria and Senegal at the Remo Stars Sports Complex, providing the Super Falcons with a valuable opportunity to assess their readiness ahead of WAFCON.

Training sessions this week have been marked by high intensity and competitive drills as the nine-time African champions seek to sharpen their fitness, tactics, and team chemistry before the tournament.

The coaching crew is also expected to use the matches to evaluate players and fine-tune strategies ahead of the competition, where Nigeria will once again be among the favourites for the title.

The Super Falcons will head to Morocco aiming to secure a record-extending 11th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations crown while also targeting qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
