Team Nigeria’s Kanyinsola Ajayi has etched his name into the history books after qualifying for the men’s 100m final at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships.
Ajayi clocked an impressive 9.93 seconds to finish second in his semifinal, securing automatic qualification for the final. With that performance, he becomes the first Nigerian man since Olusoji Fasuba in 2007 to reach a World Championships 100m final, ending an 18-year wait for the nation.
