The Super Falcons of Nigeria have booked their place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations following a tense 1-0 win over Botswana in Casablanca.
Despite Botswana’s spirited and determined display, it was Nigeria who came out on top, thanks to a late goal from Chinwendu Ihezuo. The forward, who also scored in the opening match, delivered once again when it mattered most, firing home to seal a second consecutive win for the Falcons.
With six points from two matches, Nigeria now sit comfortably at the top of their group and are assured of a place in the next round. The team will wrap up their group stage campaign against Algeria.
