The Athletics Federation of Nigeria has released a list 18 of athletes to represent Nigeria at the World U20 championship in Peru slated for 27-31 of August.
The list which has 8 men and 10 women was released on Friday August 16,and comprises of Paris 2024 Olympics women 400m semi finalist Ella Onojuvwevwo,long jump women finalist Prestina Ochonogor, Commonwealth youth games women 100m silver medalist Justina Eyakpobeyan.
Other athletes to feature in the championship includes,Sunday Okon,Caleb John,Chidera Ezeakor,Gafari Badmus,Caleb Joshua,Goodluck Ezechukwu Fiaku,and Oseiwe Salami for the men.
And completing the women’s list are,Chioma Cynthia Nweke,Precious Nzeakor,Taiwo Mary Kudoro,Favour Onyah,Adisa Rhoda,and Chioma Nwachukwu.
It would be recalled that Nigeria failed to win a medal in the recently concluded Paris 2024 Olympics. And so will be hoping to have a better representation in the Junior championship where they will be competing in eight track and field events.
